Roanoke Rapids softball offense too much for Southern Vance

Roanoke Rapids shut the door early on Southern Vance, capturing an 11-1 victory Friday afternoon in five innings.

Five runs in the first three innings allowed Yellow Jackets to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Sierra Hearp and a groundout by Jordan Carpenter during the first inning and a steal of home by Brooke McClenny in the second inning fueled Yellow Jackets' offense early.

McClenny racked up two RBI's on two of her three hits.

Hearp handled Southern Vance's lineup with ease, racking up nine strikeouts, allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks over five innings.
