Roanoke Rapids beats Franklinton, 12-3

Franklinton didn't put up much of a fight on Wednesday, as Yellow Jackets cruised to a blowout 12-3 win in seven innings.

Yellow Jackets scored three runs in the fourth on a steal of home by Hunter Martin, an RBI double by , and a single by Hope Vincent.

 

 

The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth, with four lead changes.

 

Jordan Carpenter had two doubles and a home run and racked up three RBIs on three hits for Yellow Jackets. Sierra Hearp had a single and also a home run while Brooke McClenny had a double and an home run as well.

Sierra Hearp got the win for Yellow Jackets. She allowed four runs over five innings. She struck out 12, walked four and surrendered two hits. Breanna Allen pitched for 2 innings and struck out 4 of six batters.

 

Yellow Jackets jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

 

Yellow Jackets brought home three runs in the second inning, and matched that run total in the fourth. In the second, Yellow Jackets scored on a steal of home, scoring Hunter.

 

Roanoke Rapids is off to a 2-0 season and host Rocky Mount Thursday afternoon at 5 PM.
