Chaloner softball winning streak ends at 35

Hobgood Academy softball opened Halifax Academy's 2013 Easter Tournament against unbeaten Chaloner Middle School. Hobgood beat Chaloner 11-0 in five innings of play. Kaitlyn Kostrzebski pitched for Hobgood with four strike outs and earned the win. Breanna Allen was the losing pitcher for Chaloner, while Kimmy Etheridge came in for relief.

Kaitlyn  Kostrzebski had a double and a single for Hobgood at the plate while  Kimmy Etheridge had a triple and a single, Breanna Allen and Haley Farrow each had a single for Chaloner at the plate. Chaloner is 6-1 now and play in loser bracket Friday late due to rain postponing games Thursday..

Hobgood Academy baseball defeated Rocky Mount in first round of baseball action. Hobgood will play Southampton Friday now due to the rain.
