Clary's Speedway "Ring of Fire" is ready to burn

Clary's Speedway will start the 2013 season off Saturday March 30 with a Car show fun day. With track action starting the next week Friday April 5th with GoKart racing and stock cars hitting the Halifax County dirt track Saturday April 6.

Track manger Buddy Isles Sr. says plans are coming together for the car show fun day. The activies will be 10am til 6pm. The band Six Gun is scheduled to play from 2pm-6pm. Any type of car, race car, tractor, gokart or anything you want to show off is welcome. There will be several cars from the area know Stray Cats and Twin County Cruiser car clubs on hand. There will be venders set up selling food items and Play-time Entertainment from Elm City will have fun for the young kids and old kids at heart. The enfield has been cut down for a new Gokart track while the main track also has seen some changes. The truns are 75 foot wide while the straight aways are 60 foot wide. The track entrance from the pit area has been moved from turn three to drivers hit the track out of turn four onto the straight away. And the track exit to the pits has moved from off turn two to just coming off turn one you head into the pits. The exit will be fenced off for the saftey of the children and fans in the pits. The pit area itself has been worked and cleaned up give a good 200 pit stalls if needed.

Clary's Speedway will be racing Go karts on Friday nights if enough show commitment. Divisions schedule for April 5th include Kid Karts, Hot Rods (beginners), Young Guns, powder Puff, Clone Light, Clone Medium, Clone Heavy, Clone 400, Clone Super Heavey, Clone Pure Stock, Clone Senior, Jr. 1 Champ, Champ Light, Champ Heavy, Stock Light (Flat Head), Stock Medium (Flat Head), Hot Stock, Run What Ya Brung, Animal, and Outlaw. Admission will be $10 at the gate and $20 per class, Gates open at 5pm with practice starting at 7pm. Heat races and features to follow.

Clary's Speedway will be racing Stock cars Saturday April 6th with seven divisions of racing. Scheduled for opening night include Late Model, Open Wheel Modified, Limited Sportsman, Super Street, Pure Stock, Super Stock 4 and Pure Stock 4. Gates open at 2pm Practice, qualifying, heat races and features to follow. Grandstand admission will be $15 for adults, $10 for ages 10-15, and ages 9 and under with a paying adult in the grandstands. Pit admission will be $25 for adults, $10 for ages 10-15 and ages 9 and under free with a paying adult.
