Intensive investigation led to arrests by multiple agencies into a metal theft ring involving local people.

A 19-year-old man has been charged in armed robberies which occurred in Weldon and Roanoke Rapids overnight.

Three men linked to the theft of 4,000 pounds of copper wire from a Highway 903 construction site were arrested Monday, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Council approves Chaloner pool repairs

Significant savings expected to be realized from refinancing Roanoke Rapids Theatre debt played a part in council’s decision to move forward with $300,000 in repairs to the Chaloner Recreation Center pool.
