Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp, appointed to fill the unexpired term of former Sheriff Jeff Frazier, is the Democratic nominee for the office.
Wes Tripp, the current sheriff of Halifax County, is running to regain his appointed office.
Incumbent Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp announced today he will file to run as a candidate for sheriff in the May 6 Democratic Primary.
Wes Tripp took the oath of office as sheriff of Halifax County today while a courtroom-full of supporters, deputies and family and friends looked on.
A deadlock to name an interim sheriff for Halifax County ended today with Chief Deputy Wes Tripp getting the nod after an initial deadlock today.
