Grant approval will broaden skatepark plans

Parks, public works present budgets

Parks and recreation and public works faced Roanoke Rapids City Council today to give their proposed budgets for the upcoming fiscal year.

A proposed skateboard park could get a big boost if a $125,000 Kate B. Reynolds grant is approved, Roanoke Rapids Parks and Recreation Director John Simeon told city council this evening.

Ready for the plunge: Dehumidifier arrives

Skate park design to get fine-tuning

A final design on a city skate park at T.J. Davis will go through a fine-tuning before an official design is unveiled.

The closing of the Roanoke Rapids Aquatic Center over the remainder of the fall and winter looms as a possibility after city council this evening agreed to pull discussion of dehumidifier funding from its agenda.
