The certificates were earned May 30.
Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp said the classes included latent finger print comparison, advanced interview and interrogation, homicide investigation and crime scene management.
“These are just a few of the classes of many that were successfully completed after 364 hours of classroom and practical exercise course,” Tripp said in a statement.
Rooks brings this training back and will help teach and prepare deputies assigned to his patrol shift new and advanced techniques when investigating reported crimes.
Wiltsie will continue to use his training while working criminal cases as an investigator with the sheriff’s office and help other detectives advance their techniques.
