Mills protests Scotland Neck election results

James Mills, who was defeated in the November 5 Scotland Neck mayoral race by incumbent Leonard Bunting, is protesting the outcome of that race.

According to Halifax County Board of Elections Supervisor Kristin Scott, Mills claims voting machines malfunctioned and alleges his opponent violated buffer zone rules.

The board of elections will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the board office in Halifax to officially hear his complaints.
