The Lady Twisters had a early morning start traveling to Micro, N.C. Saturday for a 8:30 a.m game against the Pitt Co. Heartbreakers. The Twisters played an outstanding defensive and offensive game beating the Heartbreakers 9-0.
In the second game the Twisters got off to a rocky start against the Carolina Diamonds giving up 6 runs in the first inning, but the Twisters kept their heads up and swung their way to a 12-9 victory.
The Twisters kept their bats swinging in their third game against the Dirt Devils scoring 9 runs in the first inning; the game ended with a score of 9-2 Twisters.
The Twisters were set to once more face the Pitt Co. Heartbreakers in the Championship game but mother nature would cut that short causing the game to be called. The Twisters were undefeated and the #1 seed in the tournament so were awarded the Grand Champions.
Lady Twisters Coach Odom stated in a day filled with great catches and plays; great hits and multiple homeruns; playing through heat, rain and thunderstorms the girls played as a team and accomplished their goal.
