Amtrak stopped a train in Halifax County Monday due to a domestic onboard and the City County Drug Task Force cited one of the people involved.

Captain A.M. Harris said the conductor stopped the train around 7:30 p.m. in the area of Reeses Store Road.
Agent J.R, Matthews responded and seized marijuana from Elizabeth Cotrofeld, 55, of New York.
She was cited to court on June 21 for a North Carolina Uniform Citation for possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Neither the woman or the other person involved in the domestic were allowed back on the train, Harris said.
It was not clear what other travel arrangements were made following the citation.

Also on Monday, shortly before 7:15 p.m., Harris noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the roadway on South Hamilton Street. He encountered a person identified as Angel Macias, 27, of Roanoke Rapids, rolling a blunt in the vehicle.
He cited Macias for possession of up to one-half ounce of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Additional marijuana and a grinder was found with assistance from agent D.R. Radford.
Court date is July 26.

Tuesday search warrant

On Tuesday in Enfield, agents went to a residence on Sherlock Holmes Road with a search warrant served with assistance from Sergeant John Bozard of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
Harris conducted an investigation of the residence based on community complaints.
During the search of the property, with assistance from canine Fino, marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia were seized.
The items of paraphernalia were digital scales, a marijuana grinder, Cigarillos and a box of sandwich bags.
Harris cited Temareo Cook, 26, of Halifax, for possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Evaline McDaniel, 56, of the residence, was cited for possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance.
Cook and McDaniel received July 26 court dates.
