Lady Jackets earn conference title

The Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity girls basketball team beat the Warren County Eagles 66-58 Friday night in Warrington to earn the 2A Northern Carolina Conference championship title.

This is Roanoke Rapids first girls conference for head coach Jim Whitmire and the first Lady Jackets since 1999.

Roanoke Rapids Stats:

Anna Vann scored 19 points

Michelle Stewart scored 14 points

Abbi Carpenter scored 12 points

Alizae Neville scored 16 points

Taylor Medlin scored 5 points
