Chief Tyree Davis said in a statement Quantrez Evans eluded arrest by not carrying ID, giving officers names of family members who did not have warrants, and cutting his electronic monitoring device off his leg.
His time on the lam ended around 11:30 Wednesday morning when Lieutenant Mac Wiggins and Officer Shatel Coates responded to the tip and arrived at West Alsop street.
While speaking with the man, later identified as Evans, officers learned he did not have any identification in his possession.
After giving a fake name the officers made a positive ID and learned Evans was wanted by probation and parole for around a year for a probation violation.
Coates arrested Evans on charges of felony interfering with an electronic monitoring device, misdemeanor larceny and obstructing and delaying a police officer.
His Bond was set at $7,500 secured and $5,000 cash.
His court date is set for December 7.
