Three area high school students will be honored for scholastic excellence.

The Center of Energy Education, in collaboration with EDF Renewables North America, will host a scholarship award ceremony on May 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at its 460 Airport Road campus to recognize the academic excellence of students from Halifax, Warren and Bertie counties.

The students will each be awarded $2,000 toward educational pursuits.

They submitted scholarship applications during C4EE’s Clean Energy High School Career Fair held on April 19.

EDF Renewables is the sponsor of this scholarship program for a third year.

Cassandra Tapit, from Warren County High School, who plans to seek education in the nursing field.

Jacarreh Williams, from Bertie County High School, who plans to seek HVAC training.
