RRPD blotter: September 23-25, 2016

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Friday September 23, 2016
At approximately 1:30 pm., Sergeant M. Peck responded to a larceny call at Shoe Show.
Store staff told Halifax Central a person was leaving in a vehicle.
Peck spotted the vehicle and stopped it on East Tenth Street.
He arrested and charged Melissa Lynn Hardison, 22, of Roanoke Rapids, for larceny and trespassing.
She received a $1,000 bond and November 18 court date.
Officer N. Velazquez assisted.

Saturday September 24, 2016
At approximately 5:30 p.m., Velazquez conducted a traffic stop on Smith Church Road and Highway 158 for an investigation.
During the stop, Velazquez found out the passenger, Jerkenzi Dashceik Malone, 22, of Windsor, had several outstanding warrants for arrest and several orders for arrest out of Hertford and Wake counties.
He was taken into custody on the outstanding papers and received a $1,750 bond and October 13 court date.
Peck assisted.

Sunday September 25, 2016
At approximately 9:30 a.m., Officer R. Cross responded to a call about a vehicle larceny in the 700 block of Williams Street,
The victim told Cross someone took their vehicle overnight and gave some information on possible suspects.
During the investigation a suspect was developed and a location of the vehicle discovered. Cross and Officer P. Smith found the vehicle in the 300 block of Monroe Street and returned it to the victim.
Cross arrested and charged Joshua William Ash, 23, of Roanoke Rapids, with larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
Ash received a $20,000 bond and November 11 court date.

At approximately 5 p.m., Velazquez responded to a larceny call at Walmart.
Loss prevention reported Candace Michelle Reeves, 25, of Roanoke Rapids, took items.
Reeves was arrested and charged with larceny and possession of stolen goods.
She received a $750 bond and September 30 court date.

At approximately 11 p.m., Officer A. Green responded to a motor vehicle collision at East Tenth Street and Becker Drive,
Green determined both drivers were impaired.
Green arrested and charged Corey Wayne Richardson, 30, of Roanoke Rapids, with driving while impaired.
He was released to a responsible party until his November 14 court date.
Sergeant M. Moseley cited Milton Parker, 55, of Gaston, for driving while impaired, open container and possession of a firearm while impaired.
He was released until his November 14 court date.
Lieutenant J. Baggett and Officer G. Colson assisted.
