Traci Storey was sworn in this morning as the new city clerk for Roanoke Rapids.

“I look forward to serving the staff and citizens,” Storey said after Mayor Emery Doughtie administered the oath of office.
“We welcome her to the city,” Doughtie said. “We look forward to working with her.”
The city announced last month she was the choice for the new position after longtime Clerk Lisa Vincent announced her retirement.
Storey most recently worked for the town of Weldon for the past 15 years.
In Weldon she served as administrative services director. Part of her duties included serving as clerk, zoning administrator and human resources officer.
