The Center for Energy Education Saturday received accolades for championing collaborative clean energy education from a leading statewide STEM organization.

The North Carolina Science, Mathematics and Technology Education Center named the center its recipient for the 2024 Partnership Award in Science, Mathematics and Technology Education at a celebration ceremony at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Cary.

C4EE Executive Director Mozine Lowe accepted the award.

The SMT Center, based in Research Triangle Park, focuses on improving education as a means of providing all students in North Carolina with the knowledge and skills to have successful careers, be good citizens and advance the economy of the state.

C4EE was lauded for helping teachers and students understand career opportunities in its community and building collaborations to develop a workforce for the future of renewable energy.

“We strive to foster collaboration and conversations about clean energy education and opportunities for renewable investments within it, especially those that spotlight economic and environmental challenges unique to rural communities,” said Lowe. “Our partners play a key role in our efforts to empower our youth, educators and citizens with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive clean energy initiatives toward a sustainable future.”
