The City County Drug Task Force is looking for a man with outstanding warrants who is now in more trouble after Halifax County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered a marijuana plant growing near his residence Thursday.

Task force Captain A.M. Harris said Tomas Luciano Delvalle, 39, is wanted for missing a court date for charges of driving while license revoked, possession of marijuana less than a half-ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The discovery of the plant by deputies A. Smith and J. Liles shortly before 12:30 p.m. led Agent D.R. Radford to take out additional warrants on Delvalle, who lives on Butts Drive around the Darlington area off Aurelian Springs Road. Those warrants, Harris said, are for manufacture marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
The deputies found the plant when they were attempting to serve Delvalle the outstanding order and detected the odor of marijuana, Harris said.
The deputies contacted Radford, who applied for, and was granted a search warrant.
Radford seized the four-foot plant.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Delvalle is encouraged to contact Halifax Central at 252-583-1991.
