The City County Drug Task Force impounded a vehicle today after receiving complaints drugs were being sold from it.

Captain A.M. Harris said it was the second complaint he received in two days of drug activity in the Eleventh Street area of Weldon known as The Strip.

Harris said in a statement he was in the area shortly after noon and noticed several people around the vehicle. They departed when they noticed him.

Harris said he could smell the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and could observe knots from plastic baggies, a box of sandwich bags and a razor blade with a white substance on it inside the vehicle.

Task force Agent D.R. Radford applied for a search warrant, which was granted.

During the search of the vehicle agents seized cocaine, and several items of drug paraphernalia which included a box of sandwich bags, plastic knots from sandwich bags, a razor blade with the white substance, and a digital scale.

The vehicle is being held until Harris can talk to the owner about this investigation.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Harris at 252-583-8201; Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444 or submit a confidential tip through the sheriff's office website.
