2016 Lady Jackets Soccer seniors

The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets Soccer team played their last 2016 regular season match at home Wednesday night and these seniors were honored.

These seniors have earned the honors of 3 time Northern Carolina Conference Champions and in 2013 were the 2A Eastern Regional Runner Up making a Final four Appearance in the State Playoffs. They have a current record of 55- 14- 6 with a playoff record of 8-3.

 

Chloe Wilson, #7 - Parents are Kay and Travis Wilson. Chloe is a 4 year starter for the yellow jackets soccer team and has served as a captain for the past 2 years. She has earned All Conference and All Region honors in the 2013, 2014 and 2015 seasons. She was voted MVP by her teammates for the past 2 years. Chloe’s current season stats are 13 goals and 6 assists with a RRHS running total of 46 goals and 43 assists. Chloe plans to attend East Carolina University this fall where she will be a member of the Pirates Women’s Soccer team under head coach Rob Donnenwirth.

 

Kaitie Smith, #2 - Parents are Jeff and Melissa Smith. This is Kaitie’s 4th year on the yellow jackets soccer team and a 3 year starter. She has a RRHS running career total of 1 goal and 5 assists. Kaitie plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in the fall.

 

Kourtney Livesay, #13 - Parents are Kelly Wrenn and Kevin Livesay.  This is Kourtney’s 4th year on the yellow jackets soccer team and a 3 year starter.  She was voted All Conference in 2014 and 2015 and All Region in 2015. Her current season stats are 2 goals and 2 assists with a RRHS running total of 4 goals and 8 assists. Kourtney plans to attend Cape Fear Community College this fall.

 

Honorary Member Taylor Vaughan, #16 - Parents are Curt and Lisa Norwood. Her grandparents are Bud and Georgia Erickson, brothers Tyler Vaughan and Jared Norwood. Taylor was a friend, teammate and classmate. She was known for her love for soccer and how she well excelled on the soccer field. She no doubt would have been a tremendous asset to the lady Jackets soccer team. Her family’s support of Lady Jackets Soccer has been greatly appreciated. Taylor passed away on June 10, 2009 in a watercraft accident (9/20/97-6/10/09).

 

Lauren Brown, #11 - Mother is Beth Harrison. This is Lauren’s first year playing for the yellow jackets. She has 1 goal this season. She plans to attend Halifax Community College this fall.

 

Catherine Acree, #10 - Parents are Danny and Angie Acree. Catherine is a 4 year starter for the yellow jackets and serves as a captain for this year’s team. She won All Conference 2014, 2015 and All Region in 2015. She was voted the Best Defensive player by her teammates for the past 2 years. Her current season stats are 2 goals and 4 assists with a RRHS running total of 6 goals and 15 assists. Catherine plans to attend UNC Wilmington in the fall

 

Lauren Blackmon #20 - Parents are Shannon Letters and Michael Blackmon. This is Lauren’s 4th year playing for the yellow jackets. Her current season stats are 2 goals and 4 assists with a RRHS running total of 10 goals and 10 assists. Lauren plans to attend Cape Fear Community College in the fall.
