Clary's Speedway April 30 race report with Elder, Atkinson, Kotke, Hobgood, Isles & O'Neal earning the wins.

Track crews worked hard all day Saturday to prepare a water logged track for racing after three days of very heavy rain, they succeeded just in time! Mother nature did not help with the cool temps and a full day of heavy cloud cover, but when the cars hit the track, all was looking good for a night of competitive racing!

The Pure Stock V8's were up first, led by fast qualifier Paul Elder and Nathan O'Neal on the front row. Taking the green, Elder and O'Neal would have a highly contested battle for the lead over the first 5 laps and a very heated race for second between Dylan Cooke, Rusty Wells and Joey Seward that would all come to a end as these three cars would tangle up coming down the front straight and pile up under the flag stand. All three cars were damaged and went pit side and only Cooke did not return. Paul Elder in his ‪#‎41E Chevrolet would go on to take a two car length win over visiting Maryland driver Johnathan Oliver (making the 5 hour haul) in his #67 Ford Grand Torino in 2nd followed by a hard charging Rusty Wells in his #55 Chevrolet 3rd. 4) #27 Nathan O'Neal 5) #4 Randy Hutchens visiting from Charles City, VA 6) ‪#‎27Jr Joey Seward 7)#2 Dylan Cooke. #007 Jim Dotson and #0 Sean Waters did not start.

With Brent Atkinson on the pole and Bobby Crawford to his outside, they would lead the Pure Stock 4 cylinders to the green flag. After very hard driving and a lot of fender rubbing in this race, slowed only by a couple of cautions for cars with mechanical issues, the #81 of Brent Atkinson would lead all 15 laps for the win! Points leader ‪#‎K11 Bobby Crawford pressured Atkinson until the end to take 2nd place followed closely by hard charging #8 Blake House for 3rd, 4) #14 Wayne Potter making his first start 5) #21 Gregory Appleford 6) ‪#‎J11 Jacob Kinsey. #64 John Ball did not start.

The Sportsman Division gave the fans all the action they could have asked for in this thrilling race! Damon Kotke set his Chevrolet on the pole beside last weeks winner Jimmy Gray, and when the green flag dropped it would be Kotke setting sail with Gray, Brad Cox & Michael Wells in a hotly contested fight for second that lasted the entire race and kept the fans cheering! The battle for second was hard racing, with clean driving and all 3 were within a second apart all the way to the checkered flag! In the end it was Damon Kotke with the car to beat on this night and never relented for a flag to flag win in his #02 Chevy! Bringing his car home 2nd would be ‪#‎O7 Brad Cox by a car length over the #1 of Jimmy Gray in 3rd and #57 Michael Wells on his bumper for 4th followed by 5) #00 Jimmy Priddy 6)#56 JP Cascell and 7) #85 Joe Taylor.

Tyler Hobgood and Bryan Kinsey were up front in the Super Stock 4 cylinder main with some familiar drivers making their first start of the season ready to challenge for the lead as the green flag dropped! Hobgood and Kinsey raced side by side for the lead the first few laps with Nevin Twiddy, Wayne Potter, Kevin Sanford and Michael Hill right in the mix with them. Hobgood set his car out front as Kinsey would fade with Potter taking over second and Twiddy in third. As the laps counted down the top 3 would close up for a tight race to the checkered flag. The ‪#‎T97 of Tyler Hobgood had a close win over 2nd place #14 of Wayne Potter with the ‪#‎T20 of Nevin Twiddy on his bumper in 3rd followed by 4) ‪#‎D5 Bryan Kinsey 5)‪ Michael Kinsey and 6) #03 Kevin Sanford.

The fans were on their feet as the Late Models rolled on to the track for the main event of the evening and never sat down as former World Of Outlaws driver Brent Robinson placed his machine on the pole beside front row starter Danny Hudson and brought the field to green! Robinson would edge into the lead in turn one with Hudson and John Eller stacked to his inside coming off turn two, Hudson raced Robinson hard for the lead with Eller glued to Hudsons rear quarter panel every lap! Behind the top 3 the action was just as intense as Buddy Isles Jr, Trevor Peoples, Brandon Hux, Christian Joyner & Brad Rigdon were all racing side by side for every position until Joyner pulled up with mechanical issues and retired from the race 3 laps in. Back under green the top three continued their battle for the lead with Peoples, Isles, Hux and Rigdon racing two and three wide for every position until the leader Robinson pulled up lap 9 in turn 3 with mechanical issues while racing side by side with Hudson to bring out a second caution, unfortunantly Robinsons great run was finished when he retired for the night. Back under green Hudson and Eller were tied up for the lead over the next several laps as Eller made his bid for the lead on several occasions with Hudson barely holding him off. Behind the leaders Peoples & Isles were locked in a battle for 3rd with Isles eventually taking the position and setting his sites on the leaders. Lap after lap Isles closed the distance and worked his way into a side by side race for second with Eller and eventually made the pass and tracked down Hudson a few laps later. The two drivers locked horns for the lead in a heated fight for the lead with Isles eventually edging ahead coming off turn 2 with 4 laps to go. The next lap would see Hudson pull up to bring out the caution and retire from the race with suspension problems. The Flyin #11 of Buddy Isles Jr would lead the final three laps for his second win in a row, closely followed by the ‪#‎5E of John Eller in 2nd and the ‪#‎P47 of Trevor Peoples in 3rd. 4) #76 Brandon Hux 5) #09 Brad Rigdon 6) #1 Danny Hudson 7)#53 Brent Robinson and 8) ‪#‎C9 Christian Joyner.

In the night cap race it would be Dustin O'Neal dropping back a couple of divisions to race with the UCar division and setting on pole along side Tommy Weese. Taking the green everyone would settle into their position with O'Neal leading followed by Weese. Weese pulled up 3 laps in and brought out the caution with car issues, back under green, It would be competitive racing through the field with passes being made for every position except for the lead as the #21 of Dustin O'Neal would lead flag to flag for the win! After a heated battle for second it would be the #88 of David Schwarm taking the position over the #44 of Dustin Cisco in 3rd. 4) #80 Ronald Klein raced pass the previous race winner #14 Christopher Dill finishing in 5th. 6) ‪#‎00M Michael Wallace 7)#53 Chris Lewis 8) #03 Rafel Brown 9) #00 Michaela Wallace 10) ‪#‎Tommy Weese. #13 Shane Loving did not start.
