Warriors go 3-0 Saturday

The Warriors, a Roanoke Rapids based travel basketball team traveled to Winston Salem to participate in the 7th annual Fast Break Challenge this past Saturday.

Behind a great defensive effort that lead to an offensive explosion they were able to go 3-0 and improve the overall record to 9-2 on the season.

Game one was decided by a score of 49-39 and the team was led by Poboigh King with 12 points, game two 66-38 led by Cadrilyus Squire with 19 points and the Championship game 62-58 led by led by Tylek Smallwood with 15 points.

Head coach Troy McNair comments, "The team effort and energy throughout the day was amazing. These youg men continue to improve and push themselves to be better and that's all I ask for is their effort and great defensive intensity. Winning one championship is a tough task, winning two consecutively is even more daunting but make no doubt about it we will be going for a 3rd because of our don't quit mentality."

Scoring totals for the day: Danyus Daniels 29, Poboigh King 28, Cadrilyus Squire 26, Tylek Smallwood 19, Tevin Vincent 18, Maleek Boone 18, Ethan Vincent 14, Traveous Garner 11, Josh Norman 7, Micah Porch 4, Nykim Stevens 3.
