The Roanoke Rapids softball team honored the local heroes Tuesday night before their varsity game.

Members of the Roanoke Rapids Police department, members of the Roanoke Rapids Fire department and members of the Halifax County Sheriffs department were well represented Tuesday night as the RRHS team held it's "Hero Appreciation Night".

The Roanoke Rapids High JROTC members presented the colors and Joanna Duhadaway sang the National Anthem then Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Chuck Hasty and Halifax County Sheriff Deputy Josh Langley threw out the first pitches.

 

In the conference game, Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Varsity gets 12 strikeouts from Sierra Hearp to win 3-0 over Franklinton Red Rams.
