Thursday April 14th  Kipp at Chaloner 

Chaloner fell behind 1-0 in the top of the 1st as a result of a leadoff single by Kipp’s Chase Nelson (who scored later in the inning). It was all Jackets after that who scored 17 unanswered runs. In the bottom of the 1st inning Colin Long hit a Home Run to give CMS a two run lead. Cody Beals hit a two run homer to give Chaloner a 4-1 in the 1st inning. Chaloner broke open a close game with 13 runs in the second inning. The leading hitters for CMS were Colin Long and Cody Beals with 3 hits and 5 RBI’s apiece. Long had a homer and a triple. Beals had 2 homers. Ethan Vincent and A.J. Strickland had triples. Trevor Harrison, Grayson Hargrave, and Jacob Deberry had two hits. Bennet Liverman and Hunt Van Dam each had a single. Ethan Vincent pitched two innings giving up one hit and striking out 4 batters. Russell Moore retired the last three batters and struck out two.

Monday April 18th Conway at Chaloner

Colin Long hit two Home Runs with 3 RBI’s to lead Chalonor to a 11-1 victory over Conway. The Jackets won the Roanoke Middle School Athletic Association Baseball title. Chaloner was 6-0 in conference play and is currently 11-4 with 3 more games to play. Ethan Vincent had a triple and A.J. Strickland had a double. Ricky Lee, Bennett Liverman, Jacob Deberry, Braxton Robertson, Marvin Butts, Russell Moore, and Logan Johnson all had singles. Russell Moore was the winning pitcher as he came in the 1st inning with the bases loaded and only one out to retire the side after giving up an unearned run. Moore pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up no hits and struck out six. Landon Wollett completed the game by pitching one inning and giving up one hit. He also stuck out 1 batter.
