The North Carolina Department of Public Safety Prison Interdiction Team with the assistance of the task force conducted interdiction at Caledonia.
During the operation, Lamar Maurice Jordan, 35, of Rocky Mount, a correctional officer, was found to be in possession of marijuana.
During a search of Jordan’s vehicle a user amount of marijuana and a marijuana grinder was seized.
Agent J.R. Matthews arrested and charged Jordan with possession of a controlled substance at a prison/jail premises and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Jordan received a $2,500 bond and April 22 court date.
Tripp said the status of Jordan's employment was not immediately clear.
Around 1:30 p.m., Agent D.J. Hundley reported agents, the Roanoke Rapids Police Department patrol division and the sheriff's office's Hazardous Entry and Arrest Team executed a search warrant at a residence on Church Street.
The search warrant was based on a four-month investigation which included officer observation and citizen complaints.
During a search of the residence, agents located user amounts of marijuana.
Hundley charged Jonathan Pilgrim, 27, of Roanoke Rapids, with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana. Pilgrim has a court date of April 27.
Agent D. McKeel reported that shortly before 3:45 p.m., agents and HEAT executed a search warrant at a Colonial Drive residence.
With assistance from Sergeant M. Brown and his dog Mallie of the sheriff's office, marijuana was seized from the residence.
McKeel based his search warrant on officer observation and citizen complaints.
McKeel cited Raymond Mills, 26, of Roanoke Rapids, for possession of a half-ounce or less of marijuana.
Mills has a March 23 court date.
