Newcomer files for Halifax County BOE race

A newcomer filed to run for the Halifax County Board of Education Thursday.

James A. Davis III of Scotland Neck is the latest to file for a seat on the board. Incumbents Charles Hedgepeth and Carolyn Hawkins filed previously and incumbent Donna Hunter filed Thursday.

Incumbent Debbie Hardy has yet to file as the Monday deadline nears.

In other filing news, former Weldon City Schools Board of Education member Edith Jenkins filed Thursday and incumbent Barbara Balmer filed previously.

Incumbents Hugh Credle and Alberta Greene have yet to file.
