Martin who is a 2010 graduate of Roanoke Rapids played football, basketball and ran track ate Roanoke Rapids. Martin was twice named Defensive player of the year in 08 & 09, was named the NCHSAA Male Athlete of the Year in 2009 along with being named the 5th best player in the state of NC. Martin chosen for East West All-star game, NC Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

Martin then attended the University of Carolina where he played four years and earned all ACC honors his senior year.

In 2014 Martin was selected in the 3rd round of the NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals and is in his second year in the NFL.

Martin was not at the game due to the Cardinals playing at Oakland Raiders Sunday, but his Family was on the field to accept the honor of "Kareem Martin" night and myself Randy Wrenn of RRspin.com Sports interviewed Martin that was played and also Martin was able to see the event unfold on face-chat with Ms. Tugwell.
