Lady Jackets sting Eagles in extra innings

The Roanoke Rapids High School Lady Yellow Jackets softball team hosted a conference match-up against Warren County Eagles.

The game went to 9 innings to determine the winner, with Roanoke Rapids scoring in the bottom of the ninth to win the game 3-2.

It was a scoreless game until the bottom of the 6th inning that put the Lady Yellow Jackets up 2-0.

The Lady Eagles came back in the top of the 7th and tied it up 2-2.

The Lady Yellow Jackets scored the walk off run with a stolen base in the bottom of the 9th for the win.

At the plate for the Lady Jackets:  Makayla Pair was 2-4 with 2 singles, Abbi Carpenter had a single, Kaitlin Rogerson was 4-4 with 4 singles, Cassidy Dickens had a single, Meagan Colston had a single and a sacrifice hit with an RBI, Riley Landen was 3-4 with 2 singles and a double and had a stolen base to win the game.

Cassidy Dickens pitched 6 innings with 2Ks, and 7 hits with 2 runs. Lily Curtis pitched 3 innings with 4Ks, BB, with 2 hits.
