Man wanted in vehicle B&E surrenders

A man wanted in an April 19 vehicle breaking and entering surrendered Monday morning to the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.

Investigator G.L. Williams charged Gregory Alexander Carle, 21, of Roanoke Rapids, with breaking, entering and larceny of a motor vehicle.
He received a $2,500 bond and June 7 court date, Chief Chuck Hasty said in a statement.
The charges stem from a report of a vehicle broken into at a business in the 1500 block of West Tenth Street.
The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are pending.
Williams has obtained warrants on Nashiem Smith, 18, and Quinton Barfield, 19.
Hasty said the men are encouraged to surrender and take care of the matter.

Traffic stop

On Monday at approximately 12:15 p.m., Hasty said Lieutenant P. Parks conducted a traffic stop for a violation on Medlin near Argus streets.
Officer R. Cross and his dog Midas indicated on the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. Paraphernalia was found.
Crystal Ann Peffer, 33, was cited for operating a vehicle without a license, expired plate and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was released until her June 16 court date.
