Three more people have been arrested in an alleged conspiracy to bring a Halifax County Detention Center inmate drugs.

The arrests today of Andrew Hardin — the inmate — and Crystal Harp and Michael Fahey, acquaintances of the inmate, come after a lieutenant at the detention center was arrested and fired Friday.
There were two unsuccessful attempts to bring drugs to Hardin and one successful attempt, which Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp said was the one which involved former detention center Lieutenant Johnnie Johnson. Johnson was not working during the first two attempts, the sheriff said.
The sheriff’s office charged Hardin with possession of a controlled substance in a jail and felony conspiracy. He received a $10,000 bond.
Hardin is currently awaiting an August 15 superior court date on charges of obtain property by false pretense, misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor possession of stolen goods and felony probation violation. In addition to those counts, he faces charges of felony larceny of a firearm and felony possession of a firearm and felony probation violation, according to state court records.
Harp was charged with three counts of felony conspiracy and felony aid and abet providing drugs to an inmate. She received a $50,000 bond.
Fahey was charged with felony conspiracy and given a $3,000 bond.
The three charged today are from the Roanoke Rapids area and have September 21 court dates.
Tripp said Friday the charge of aiding and abetting providing drugs to an inmate against Johnson, of Littleton, reflect a one-time action on the jailer’s behalf.
