Captain A.M. Harris of the City County Drug Task Force said in a statement he obtained the warrant today for the arrest of Alvin Norwood Jr., 24, of Weldon.

The man, who frequents the so-called South Weldon community as well as the Garysburg area, faces charges of felony possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance.

The vehicle was impounded Friday from an area on Eleventh Street in Weldon called The Strip after the task force received complaints of drug activity.
