The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Friday May 13, 2013

At approximately 12:15 p.m., Investigator Gorton Williams arrested Jermaine Lamont Moody, 18, and Jalik Jaquan Fields, 16, of Roanoke Rapids, on outstanding warrants after he surrendered at the police department.

The charges stem from an investigation by Williams on May 5 at Sheetz when the pair took items from the store.

The men were released to a responsible person and have June 15 court dates.

Saturday May 14, 2016

At approximately 2 a.m., Sergeant Terrence Tyler was working an off-duty assignment at Waffle House on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway when Keith Owen Scot Jr. became disruptive towards the staff.

Tyler asked Owen to leave to property and he complied. However, he returned to the business and then refused to leave the property.

Tyler arrested and charged Owen, who was released to a responsible person, with trespassing.

He has a May 27 court date.

Sunday May 15, 2016

At approximately 6:30 p.m., Officer Alex Green responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention reported Sabrina Nicole Carr, 27, of Halifax, and Janet Madron, 66, of Roanoke Rapids, took items.

Green cited both for larceny and they were released until their July 11 court dates.

At approximately 8:15 p.m., Officer Greg Colson responded to a disturbance call on Oakridge Drive.

Colson learned Nicholas Travas Bowden was wanted by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Colson arrested and charged Bowden with being a fugitive from another state.

Bowden received a $20,000 bond and has a June 1 court date.

Lieutenant Perry Parks, Sergeant Daniel Jenkins and Officer Scott Blythe assisted.
