The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets won big over Louisburg 11-1 on Monday night at home in the 1st round of the Big East Conference softball tournament.

Roanoke Rapids got things moving in the first inning. Kalissa Williams homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Logan Storey was credited with the victory for the Yellow Jackets. The hurler lasted three innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out five. Madison Jones threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Roanoke Rapids socked one home run on the day. Williams had a dinger in the first inning. The Lady Jackets racked up 11 hits on the day. Meredith Wilson and Kaysie Summerlin all had multiple hits for Roanoke Rapids. Wilson went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Roanoke Rapids in hits.

Roanoke Rapids Varsity tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Summerlin led the way with two.

Roanoke Rapids was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Meghan Beam had the most chances in the field with ten.
