The Roanoke Rapids High School Varsity Lady Yellow Jackets softball team blew out the Louisburg Warriors 11-1 on Monday evening.

The Yellow Jackets got on the board in the first inning when Greenleigh Gleason induced Sue Odom to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Roanoke Rapids put up four runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by an error on a ball put in play by Kalissa Williams and Logan Storey and a groundout by Meredith Wilson.

Williams was the winning pitcher for the Yellow Jackets. The righthander allowed seven hits and one run over six innings, striking out nine and walking one. Gleason started the game for Louisburg.

The bulldog allowed four hits and seven runs over four and a third innings, striking out two. Chloe Webster threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Roanoke Rapids socked one home run on the day. Karlee Hammack had a long ball in the fifth inning. Hammack led Roanoke Rapids Varsity Yellow Jackets with two hits in three at bats. Lauren Garner led the Yellow Jackets with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
