Halifax Academy softball earns Championship in &quot;First Pitch Tournament&quot;

The Halifax Acadmey Lady Vikings battled three games Saturday to earn the Championship in the "2020 First Pitch Softball Tournament" they hosted at Chockoyotte Park in Roanoke Rapids.

The tournament started Friday with pool play and started Saturday morning with one game of pool play followed by single elemination bracket play.

Halifax Academy head coach Steve Hamill stated, "I would like to thank Roanoke Rapids Parks and Recreation Director John Simmeon and his staff for working hard on preparing the fields for play Friday after the rain and Saturday all day. They really did an excellent job with this facility and fields."
