On Wednesday May 28, Roanoke Rapids High School held its annual Athletic Awards night. 

RRHS celebrated over 260 different student-athletes this year across 22 varsity and 4 JV sports teams.  The Yellow Jackets had 2 conference championship teams this year:  Women's Swimming and Women's Soccer.  They also had 5 conference players of the year and 2 conference coaches of the year.  The 5 players of the year were Avery Qualls in volleyball, Madison Jones in softball, Shaniah Daniels for Defensive POY in women's soccer, Casey Neal for Offensive POY in women's soccer, and Collin Elias in baseball.  The 2 coaches of the year were Hunter Baker in women's swimming and Craig Jean in women's soccer.  The night had each varsity team present team awards followed by the presentation of the RRHS Athletics major awards.  This year the major award winners were as follows.

The Sports Club Spark Plug Award winners were  Molly Coggins and Connor Williams

The Aimee Erwin Award winner was Kara Baird

The Mickey Gukich Award winner was Avery Garner

The Cranford Hoyle Award winners were Shaniah Daniels and Carson Duncan

The RRHS Best All-Around Athlete Award winners were Casey Neal, Avery Qualls, and Collin Elias
