The second round of the NCHSAA 2018-19 State Basketball Championship Roanoke Valley schools in the State playoffs played Thursday night with Weldon girls and Northwest Halifax boys only Valley teams remaining.

#16 seed Weldon (16-7) lost to  #1 seed Washington County (23-1) 87-65

Womens 1A

#6 seed Weldon (22-0) beat #11 seed John A Holmes (17-9) 62-42

#12 seed Northampton County (17-8) lost to #5 seed Vance Charter (25-2) 68-64

Womens 2A

#14 seed Roanoke Rapids (19-5) will travel to  #3 seed Kinston (22-5) 61-44
