Willard Alvin Massey, 99, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Edward Massey and Narcissa Barnes Massey, sons, Glenn Massey and Willard Massey Jr “Bobo”, seven brothers and two sisters. 

Willard is survived by his children, Janet Whitby (Spurgeon), Susan Edwards and Kevin Massey, grandchildren, Sharon, Mark, Amy, Jamie, Elizabeth, Kim, Kristy, Amanda, Kristie, Eric and Shonda, twenty five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. 

Willard enjoyed NASCAR, walking and watching the Carolina Tar Heels. 

He was a World War II veteran and served on the USS Ticonderoga. 

Willard was a devoted father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. 

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Wrenn Funeral Home from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 1:00pm in New Cedarwood Cemetery with Reverend Dennis Joyner officiating.
