Alan Ryan Bartley, 77, a resident of 814 Roanoke Ave, Roanoke Rapids, NC, peacefully departed this life at his home on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
Born in Roanoke Rapids, NC on September 26, 1946, Alan was the son of Edgar Lloyd Bartley and Susie Barilla Faulkner.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother and father, as well as his brothers, Arden McKay Bartley, Edgar Wayne Bartley, and sister, Daphne Grey Bartley Collins.

Alan (Al) is survived by sister-in-law Mildred Faison Bartley, his nieces Miriam Ann Collins Harrell, Bonita Bartley Harris (Steve Harris), great nephew Steven Dohl and great nieces Holly Ann Harrell Walker, Joy Lyn Conroe, Shaunna Kay Harrell Carlson, and Renee Elizabeth Harrell Dressel. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Alan's legacy is carried on by those he held dear. He graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School and served in the United States Air Force. His love for hunting arrowheads with his friend Bill Harris and passion for North Carolina history was well-known.
In honor of Alan's life, a graveside service for family and friends will be held at the Cedarwood Cemetery (old), 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024.
