Lewis Benton "L.B." Doyle Jr., died Friday, September 21, 2018, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

He was 84.

A native of Halifax County, L.B. was the son of the late Lewis Benton Doyle and Lattie Wrenn Doyle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hazel Etheridge Doyle. After graduating from Pharmacy School, he started his career with Kerr Drug Company, later returning to Roanoke Rapids to purchase Roanoke Drug Company, where he had worked while in Pharmacy School.

He retired from Eckerd Drug Company, and filled in for Spears Pharmacy after retirement.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church in Roanoke Rapids.

L.B. is survived by his daughters; Barbara Kaye Doyle Barrett and her husband Bob, of Jackson, and Lisa Doyle Brobst and her husband Larry, of Wilmington, grandchildren; Barry Barrett of Raleigh, Kaitlyn Brobst of Greenville, and Benton Barrett and his wife Kelen of Jackson, great grandchild; Ben Barrett Jr.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wrenn Clarke and Hagan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joseph Casteel officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour at the Funeral Home prior to the service.
