Johnny Russell Snider, 96, of Halifax, NC died Saturday, October 22, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.  

Johnny was the son of the late Johnny Russell Snider, Sr. and Narcissus Pruen Snider.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Ivey Marie Snider of 71 years, brother; Jimmy Snider, his sister Dorothy Helen Ruffin; two daughters; Della Snider and Debra Crickmore and his son Russell Snider.

Johnny retired from the County Bus Garage after many years of service. After his retirement he enjoyed fishing at the coast or the Roanoke River with his family. He was a man of many talents where he would spend many hours working in his shop building flower stands, magazine racks and many other things. There wasn’t nothing that had a motor in it that he could not fix. He also spent a lot of time planting and working in his garden. 

He is survived by his daughters; Katie Long, Glenda Russell and her husband Jay:  sons; Frank Snider, Sr. and his wife Diane, Randy Snider, Caleb Snider and his wife Lindsey:  Sixteen Grandchildren, Thirty Two Great Grandchildren and Ten Great-Great Grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Debbie Sanders for caring for Johnny until his passing.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Wrenn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:00 am at Roanoke Rapids Church of God, with Minister Timothy Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.
