William “Bill” Earl Ellis, 83, died Sunday, July 31, 2022, at ECU Healthcare in Greenville, NC.  

Bill was born in Northampton County, NC, February 02, 1939, son to the late Jessie Lawrence and Doma Clary Ellis. 

Bill was a hard worker and enjoyed being outdoors, especially when cutting his grass.  

He was a kind man and also ran the Gaston Drive-In for many years. 

He was also a member of the volunteer fire department.  

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Malone Ellis.  

Surviving are his brothers, Robert Adolphus and Jessie L. Ellis. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.  

Rev. Richard Russell will conduct a funeral service at Shiloh UMC in Gaston, Friday August, 05, 2022 at 2:00 pm.  

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow in the Ellis Family Cemetery.
