Joseph (Joey) Nelson Pate, Jr., 52, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018, in Greenville, NC.

He was born on May 12, 1966, to Judy Crumpler Pate and Joseph Nelson Pate, Sr. in Goldsboro, NC.  

He was employed by Weyerhaeuser, in Grifton, NC.

He is also survived by his loving wife, Donna Sease Pate and three children Joshua Pate (Stephanie), Brittany Ellisor (Tyler Moss) and Ashley Ellisor (Shannon Connolly); two grandchildren, Chase Pate and Hadley Moss and his beloved dog and friend, Lucy.  He is also survived by a sister, Amanda Barnes (Ronnie) and a brother, Chad Pate (Tracey) of Pikeville, NC and sisters, Leslie Lawhorn (Edward) and Jennifer Pate of Pikeville, NC, and several nieces and nephews. His mother-in-law Alliene Sease, of Newberry, SC.

The family will receive at Wrenn Clarke & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service. 1015 West 5th Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC, Thursday, December 20, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 21, 2018, at 2:00 PM, at First Christian Church, 836 Roanoke Ave. Roanoke Rapids, NC, with Minister Bane Angles, officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
