Betty Mae Harris, 62, of Roanoke Rapids, NC died Monday, September 13, 2021 at her residence.

Betty was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC the daughter of the late George Washington Harris, Jr. and Lina Porach Harris. She was a graduate of East Carolina University and taught in the Northampton County School System for many years.

Others preceding Betty in death were: sisters Alyce Ryce, Louise Moseley, Pauline Landry; brothers Frank Harris, Jerry Harris, Randolph Harris and Al Harris.

Surviving are: two sisters,  Wanda Traylor and her husband Hunter of Littleton, NC and Shirley Ellis of Roanoke Rapids, NC; a brother Lewis Harris of Gaston, NC; nieces, special niece Cathy Clarke of Triplet, VA, Kelly Traylor Eller and Brittany Traylor both of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Myrtle Hall of Middlesex, NC, Debra Mason of Raleigh, NC, Libby Murphy and Patricia Stevenson both of Murfreesboro, NC, Kay Rook of Rocky Mount, NC, Lisa Harris Floyd of Raleigh, NC; nephews, Danny Moseley of Emporia, VA, Brad Harris of North Dakota, Caleb Harris of Michigan, George Rook , of Wilson, NC, Eugene Grizzard, Gaston, NC, Larry Grizzard,  Washington, NC.

Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, September 26, 2021, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 901 Park Avenue, Roanoke Rapids, NC, with Bishop Myrick officiating. Masks are preferred for the service.
