Deborah (Dee) Jean Allen, 68, of Gaston, North Carolina, died on June 16th, 2021, as a result of complications from heart surgery.  

Dee is the daughter of the late Bill and Frances Allen of Gaston.  

She is survived by her brother Stanley “Rod” Allen (Sue) and her beloved nephews Lee (Grace) and Jacob (Diane), great nephews William, Hunter, and Peyton and a special cousin Darlene Whitby.  

She was born in Halifax County, North Carolina on April 14, 1953, graduated from Gaston High School and attended Mount Olive College.  

Although Dee never attended UNC she was an avid Tarheel fan and requested her body be donated to the school for medical research.

Dee worked for the ABC Commission in Garner for many years.  She then had various other jobs until she had to retire due to a disability.  She was creative and worked with her hands as long as she could.  She enjoyed gardening and tending her many bird feeders. She was particularly proud of her blue bird families and visits from her many hummingbirds.

A graveside service for Dee will be held on July 3rd at 11:00 at Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
