Myrtle Bryant Spence, 91, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, died Friday, January 29, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Spence was born in Northampton County, NC the daughter of the late Matthew Harvey Bryant and Lucy Beale Bryant. 

She was the widow of George R. Spence and a homemaker. 

Preceding her in death were the following brothers and sisters: Grace Bryant Peede, Dorothy Bryant Brutosky, Vashti Bryant Peede, Cular Bryant, Jennie Bryant Craddock, Hazel Bryant Bryant, Janice Bryant McMahan, Helen Bryant Bennett, Matthew Harvey Bryant, Jr., Marjorie Bryant, John Covington Bryant “Junior”, Morris Hinton Bryant, Matthew Morris Bryant, Polly Bryant Hopkins and Stancil Roland Bryant.

Surviving are: a Daughter, Janet Spence Powell and her husband Ray, of Roanoke Rapids, NC; a son Steve “Bitty” R. Spence of Gaston, NC; a sister Camilla Dixon and her husband James of Halifax, NC; four grandchildren Paula Copeland, Tony Powell (Joy), Kevin Powell (Stacy), and Gary Powell (Alison); seven great-grandchildren Cameron Powell (Marissa), Christopher Powell, Mollie Powell, George Powell, Lilly Powell, Chase Copeland and Tyler Copeland; a great-great- grandchild, Landen Copeland; special friends Madie Higgins and Irene Morgan; loving caregivers Ann Rosser, Taneka Rainey and especially Kathy Scott, whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Wrenn Clarke & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. 

The Family will receive at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
