Jerry Wayne Thompson Jr., 56, died Thursday, October 15, 2020, at his home.

A native of Halifax County, Jerry was the son of the late Jerry Wayne Thompson Sr. and Patricia True Thompson, who survives him. 

Jerry was a longtime Mason, a construction worker who loved fishing and his bulldog Gator, and was considered an excellent handyman.

In addition to his mother, Jerry is survived by his son; Robert Wayne Thompson, his daughter; Samantha Thompson, a brother; Tony Thompson Sr. and his wife Susan, a sister; Pamela Carroll and her husband Jasper of Pleasant Hill, grandchildren; Bailey, Caiden, and Dustin, niece; Beth May and her husband Michael, nephew; Tony Thompson Jr. and his girlfriend Terri, and his bulldog Gator.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 19, 2020, at Wrenn Clarke and Hagan Funeral Home from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.

Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Cox officiating.
