Patricia Ann Nicholson Hayes, 83, died Saturday, May 30, 2020. 

She was lovingly known as Pat by her family and friends.

A native of Halifax County, she was the daughter of the late Lee Thomas Nicholson and Lucy Caroline Rook Nicholson. 

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband; Willis “Bill “Blanchard Hayes Sr., two sons; Wayne Hayes and Blan Hayes, and a brother; Freddie Nicholson. 

Pat worked for many years at Big Star Grocery Store. Pat had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved. She was a generous person and would do anything she could to help those around her. She was a strong and determined lady and overcame many challenges in her lifetime.

Pat is survived by her daughter; Kay Greene and her husband Mike of Weldon, her brother; Reggie Nicholson and his wife Joann, her sister Mary Nicholson Boulineau, her grandchildren; Christy Hayes, Kelly Hayes, Nikki Greene New, Leanne Hayes, and Rachel Hayes Lett, and seven great- grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Cedarwood Cemetery with Dr. Dennis Gregory officiating.
