Leonard Patterson Limer was born on October 31, 1943 to the late Edmond and Mary Thomas Limer, in Warrenton, NC. Pat joined his parents in heaven on January 11, 2020.

Pat was Preceded in death by his twin boys Peter and Paul, and a daughter Heather. Pat is also preceded in death by his four brothers and three sisters.  He kept the memories of Edmond Jr. (Peter), Thomas, William, and Garland (Sonny) alive in his heart as well as Ruby Perkinson, Bernice Everhart, and Peggie Williamson, beloved sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Mary. His sons Martin (Marty) Limer and C. Matthew Lewis, his daughter, Christine Garnett (Mark); Five grandchildren, Rachel Music, Nathen Lewis, Jeremy Limer, Caroline and Jacob Garnett.

Pat is also survived by his three sisters-in law, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Pat was a member of South Rosemary UMC where he served as the head of Trustees and President of the Men’s Club, leading the preparation and sale of their annual Brunswick stew fundraiser.

Pat was a veteran of the US Air Force and Retired from Halifax County Sheriff’s Department, having served as prison guard at Caledonia.

Pat loved his family, loved to cook, and to travel. He was a long time member of the National Association of Sports Officials, Officiating Football, Baseball, and Basketball games across NE North Carolina and SE Virginia.

The family will receive friends at South Rosemary United Methodist Church on Saturday January 18, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM.

Memorial Services will be held at South Rosemary United Methodist church Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Sue Owens Officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Rosemary United Methodist Church, 108 Hwy 158, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
