It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of JC Barnwell, 88, who passed his final weigh station on Monday, April 27, 2026. 

JC was born on May 7, 1937, in Warrior, Alabama to the late Hermit and Mary Lou Barnwell. After graduating high school, JC was employed as a truck driver—a job he loved and devoted years to up until his retirement. He was a grease monkey at heart, and thoroughly enjoyed tinkering, working on cars, and driving trucks enjoying both the driving and the traveling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marian, and brothers, Richard Barnwell and David Barnwell.

JC leaves to cherish his memory his three daughters, Rhonda Barnwell Allen (Steve) of Sebastian, Florida; Wanda Barnwell Catt (Randy) of Nashville, North Carolina; and Audrey Gore of Hiram, Georgia; and brother, Roland Barnwell (Rita) of Warrior, Alabama.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, April 30, at 4 pm, at Crestview Memorial Cemetery, 489 Smith Church Road in Roanoke Rapids, with Pastor Matthew Reider officiating.
